easyJet extends its route network - Six weekly flights to London Southend from Schönefeld Airport
17.06.13 16:36A fast connection for holidaymakers and business travellers
“London is not only a supremely popular city break destination, it is also an important destination for business travellers”, says Hartmut Mehdorn, Chief Executive Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. “The new easyJet connection is also the first direct service from Schönefeld Airport to London Southend.”
“With this new destination we are offering the people of Berlin and Brandenburg an even wider choice of services”, says Thomas Haagensen, Regional General Manager of easyJet Germany. “The new connection strengthens Berlin’s position as a key location for easyJet.” The airline now flies up to seven times a day to London, and the new service sees easyJet extending its services from Berlin to a total of 41 direct connections.
Southend-on-Sea is located to the east of London. A direct rail connection to London’s Liverpool Street Station guarantees rapid transfer from the airport to the city centre. The train journey takes approximately 50 minutes. With Luton in the north and Gatwick in the south, easyJet passengers in Berlin can now fly to a choice of three airports in London.
