Six million passengers in 10 years - Ryanair celebrates milestone at Berlin Schönefeld
17.07.13 12:46Ryanair, Europe’s leading low fares airline, today welcomed its six millionth passenger carried to/from Schönefeld. Kirsti Vainio from Oslo, who is spending a long weekend in Berlin with her daughter Torunn, was greeted by airport and airline representatives shortly after arriving at Berlin Schönefeld. To celebrate the occasion, the six millionth passenger receives a flight voucher for two people from the Irish carrier.
Henrike Schmidt, Ryanair Sales & Marketing Manager for Germany, is proud to be celebrating a milestone in the German capital: “Six million passengers in the German capital are a milestone for Ryanair. Our warmest congratulations go to Ms Vainio. I am especially delighted our milestone figure was cracked by someone from Oslo since it does after all show that we not only stimulate outgoing but also incoming tourism. The Norwegians too love Ryanair’s low cost fares without the fuel surcharge.”
Marjan Schöke, head of Airline Marketing at Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH, is likewise delighted by this occasion:
“We share Ryanair’s delight in this passenger record in Berlin. Ryanair has been flying from Berlin since 2003 and is an important partner for us at Schönefeld. We wish the airline a continued pleasant flight and new passenger records.”
In the summer flight schedule, Ryanair flies to six destinations from Berlin Schönefeld Airport: besides the connection to Oslo Rygge, the airline flies daily to the UK capital London and three times a week to the Nottingham region (East Midlands) as well as to Stockholm. Ryanair takes off five times a week to Dublin and four times a week to Milan Bergamo.
