Family Festival at the weekend - Come and visit us at BER!
13.09.13 10:10The Family Festival at Berlin Brandenburg Airport starts tomorrow, and everyone in Berlin and Brandenburg is cordially invited to come by. With tours of the airport grounds, a look inside the train station, a walk through the terminal, helicopter flights, and a varied stage programme, there are lots of exciting things to see and do for aviation fans and everyone interested in the airport. Even if it rains it is still worth paying a visit since most of the Family Festival is taking place beneath the terminal roof. What is more, entry to the Infotower is free of charge this weekend (September 14/15, 2013).
“We aim to give everyone in Berlin and Brandenburg interested in BER the opportunity to get to know the new airport first hand,” says Hartmut Mehdorn, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH. “At our Family Festival we will be opening the doors of BER to the public, offering tours of the terminal and the airport grounds as well as an informative programme including film and photo presentations live on stage. This will give visitors the chance to obtain information directly on site,” he adds.
Varied programme
The BER Family Festival will take place between 10 am and 6 pm. Visitors can join three different tours:
- A look at the train station beneath the terminal: the tour begins on Willy-Brandt-Platz.
- A bus tour of BER: this gives visitors the opportunity to get off the bus on the grounds of the future airport. The starting point is on the arrivals level of BER.
- A tour of the BER terminal will begin on the departures level.
All tours are free of charge and are around 15 minutes long.
In addition, experts on stage on the departures level will be providing information and making presentations on important themes dealing with various aspects of the future airport. A variety of exhibitors, numerous sports activities and other exciting attractions will ensure a varied family-friendly programme for youngsters and adults alike. In addition, a DJ on the Spree Radio stage will be playing a variety of music the whole day and will be giving visitors the opportunity to participate in competitions to win prizes.
