Key milestone reached: 6th amendment to the building permit submitted to the building authorities

31.07.15 12:38

Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH submitted the 6th amendment to the building permit for the BER passenger terminal to the building authorities in the district of Dahme-Spreewald today as planned. The airport company has therefore reached another key milestone in the process of opening the airport in the second half of 2017. Comprising approx. 10,000 A4 pages and 50 folders, the 6th amendment outlines a variety of individual topics of relevance until commissioning of BER. The 6th amendment also represents the final planning application for the passenger terminal.
The application covers safety lines with full-body scanners, for example, in accordance with new guidelines. The security-related systems interfaces in the passenger terminal were also updated and harmonised.
Within the context of processing and examining the application documents for the 6th amendment by the building authorities in Königs Wusterhausen, additional documents will also be submitted. These will include reports on the design review of safety-related systems for emergency power generation and emergency lighting.
The new plans required for the north and south delivery areas will be outlined subsequently within the framework of the 5th amendment to the building application submitted to the building authorities in late April 2015.
