Local public transport

Schönefeld Airport has a railway station that provides excellent connections (regional and S-Bahn trains) to Berlin's centre and surrounding areas. Numerous bus connections round off the range of local public transport options. The airport is located in fare zone C. The airport is just a five-minute walk from the railway station via a covered walkway.

S-Bahn railway

Advice
From 19.6. to 5.7. the S-Bahn lines S9 and S45 do not run to Schönefeld Airport due to rail construction work. There is a replacement bus service between Baumschulenweg and SXF. The replacement buses stop directly in front of Terminal A. Passengers arriving at the airport from the city centre should use the regional train lines RE7 and RB14.

Passengers who are not able to use the regional trains should use line S45, S9 (Express), as there are fewer stops on these line.

  • Bus S45, S9 (Express): Baumschulenweg <> Schöneweide <> Adlershof <> Airport Schönefeld (Terminal A)
  • Bus S45, S9 (local): Baumschulenweg <> Schöneweide <> Adlershof <> Grünau <> Altglienicke <> Grünbergallee <> Schönefeld (railway station)

From 5.7., the S-Bahn (urban railway) will be back every 10 minutes and will serve both the Berlin city centre (S9) and the southern ring line to Südkreuz (S45).

  • S9 (Spandau – Charlottenburg – Zoologischer Garten – Hauptbahnhof – Friedrichstraße – Alexanderplatz – Ostbahnhof – Schöneweide –  Adlershof – Flughafen Schönefeld)
  • S45 (Südkreuz – Neukölln – Baumschulenweg – Schöneweide – Adlershof – Flughafen Schönefeld)

Regional railway (Airport Express)

The Airport Express (RE 7 / RB 14) runs twice every hour from Berlin city centre to Schönefeld Airport. The journey time from Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main station) is only 30 minutes. A further regional train service (RB 22) provides an hourly connection between Brandenburg’s state capital Potsdam and Schönefeld Airport.

  • RE 7 (Dessau Hbf – Bad Belzig – Michendorf – Potsdam Babelsberg – Berlin Wannsee – Berlin Zoologischer Garten – Berlin Hauptbahnhof – Berlin Friedrichstraße – Berlin Alexanderplatz – Berlin Ostbahnhof – Berlin Ostkreuz – Flughafen Schönefeld – Blankenfelde – Zossen – Wünsdorf Waldstadt)
  • RB 14 (Nauen – Falkensee – Berlin Spandau – Berlin Zoologischer Garten – Berlin Hauptbahnhof – Berlin Friedrichstraße – Berlin Alexanderplatz – Berlin Ostbahnhof – Berlin Ostkreuz – Flughafen Schönefeld)
  • RB 22 (Berlin Friedrichstraße – Berlin Hauptbahnhof – Berlin Zoologischer Garten – Potsdam Hauptbahnhof – Golm – Flughafen Schönefeld – Königs Wusterhausen)
