Dangerous goods

Objects which could pose a threat to air travel and other passengers must not be carried in either hand luggage or hold baggage.

The following items are prohibited in luggage:

  • Explosives such as ammunition, fireworks and sparklers
  • Camping gas canisters
  • Radioactive or oxidising substances, bleaching agents
  • Toxic substances such as insecticides, infectious substances, or substances which are hazardous to the environment
  • Corrosive solids and liquids (e.g. wet batteries, mercury – including as a component of devices and instruments)
  • Flammable solids and liquids, spontaneously combustible materials and water-reactive substances (e.g. varnishes, paints or thinners)
  • Self-defence sprays
  • Alcoholic substances with more than 70% alcohol
  • It is in no way permitted to carry petrol and wind-proof lighters, as well as lighter refills onto the aeroplane. One gas lighter per passenger is allowed to be brought on-board, but must be carried on your person. Possession in hand luggage or checked luggage is not permitted. Lighters detected in luggage will be disposed of.
  • Chainsaws
  • E-cigarettes (forbidden in hold baggage, allowed in hand baggage)
  • Powerbanks (forbidden in hold baggage, under circumstances allowed in hand baggage)

Airline restrictions that go beyond these general terms are decisive.
